Prepares for the Future

Over 24 years in operation and with 40 years of experience, Gerry and his two brothers and sister are industry veterans in running a successful business. Gerry and his family are 3^rd generation restaurateurs “We’ve been in the business for almost all our lives. Our father owned restaurants and ever since we were little we’ve grown to understand everything about it.”  Today Gerry, his siblings are actively involved in managing the daily operations at Mrs. Riches, a large scale casual family dining restaurant. They knew very well what they wanted and needed when shopping for a new point-of-sale system.

When interviewing Gerry, his main concern was to look for a system that was easy for staff to learn and operate, and he wanted to stay within budget.  They considered the option of continuing with their traditional standalone POS system, but they decided to expand their search to find what’s new and relevant to their business today.  Gerry wanted a system that could incorporate the use of the Internet to allow them to expand their business and make it easier on themselves to do everyday backend chores. 

“I compared Auphan Dining with other systems in the market and its value was worth the switch. We wanted a system that could utilize the use of the Internet, be user friendly for staff, and feature specific for our restaurant operations.”

Finding a system that could incorporate web technology was a big part in their decision. Not could they improve efficiency with their operations, it also allowed them to offer more services for their customers to order and reserve at their restaurant.  Gerry finds the fully integrated system to be very easy to use and intricate enough to allow him to customize what he needs to do his work.

“My brother who manages the book keeping side likes the system because the system is able to gather the information he needs to keep track of staff hours and calculate payroll. More importantly, he doesn’t need to stay at the restaurant. He can do this at home, anytime without disrupting current operations.

The transition from our old system to Auphan Dining was seamless. The system was available online for staff to learn and train before it was even installed. I really like the customer service here and how the company provides a hands on approach in supporting their customers. This is a young and upcoming organization with a positive attitude. I really care about that and it only made sense to move forward with a progressive company”.
